Apple AR Glasses could be coming in 2022, hybrid AR/VR headset in 2023
According to a report, Apple could be launching its AR Glasses in 2022
The company will also be looking at launching a hybrid AR/VR headset in 2023
The headset is going to come with a high res display and cinematic speakers
Apple is actually looking at getting its Apple AR Glasses out by as early as 2022. As reported by Bloomberg, the Apple AR Glasses aren’t the only AR product Apple is planning on releasing. There’s another ultra-high-resolution VR/AR hybrid headset in the works for 2023 as well. The two devices are codenames N421 and N301. We’ve heard talks about Apple’s AR Glasses and it does look like they’re going to be a reality in 2022.
The more intriguing product in the line-up is the hybrid headset. According to the report, the headset is going to come with a high res display and cinematic speakers for a truly immersive experience. These headsets aim to ‘make it impossible for a user to differentiate the virtual world from the real one’. Even though Apple probably will not announce these products at WWDC 2020. We should be hearing more about them soon enough.
Talking about WWDC 2020, it looks like Apple may rename iOS to iPhoneOS at the event. Apple could also announce ARM-based in-house chips for Macs at WWDC 2020. The San Cupertino giant was also recently awarded a patent for taking group selfies while practising social distancing.
