Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S26 FE in India on September 14, 2026, confirming its pricing four days ahead of retail availability on September 18, 2026. The phone was first unveiled globally on August 27, 2026, and is the first phone in the Galaxy S26 series to ship with One UI 9 based on Android 17. In something of a surprise, Samsung has brought only a single memory configuration to India at launch — 8GB RAM with 256GB storage — leaving out the 8GB/128GB variant that had featured in earlier regional pricing leaks, though industry watchers suggest a cheaper option could follow later.
The Galaxy S26 FE features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,900 nits of peak brightness. It's powered by Samsung's own 3nm Exynos 2500 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the Indian configuration. The phone is built around a 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging (rated for up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes), 15W wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare, and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The triple rear camera system offers 3x optical zoom, and Samsung has loaded the phone with Galaxy AI features including an updated Now Brief, Circle to Search, Photo Assist, and Gemini Omni. Samsung is backing the device with 7 generations of OS upgrades and 7 years of security updates.
| Variant | RAM | Storage | Official Price (India) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Only Variant Available at Launch | 8GB | 256GB | ₹79,999 |
Note: The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is officially available in India in Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio colourways, on sale from September 18, 2026, via Samsung.com, major online retailers, and offline stores. Samsung is offering three mutually exclusive launch benefits: a flat ₹7,000 cashback on eligible bank credit or debit cards, an ₹8,000 upgrade bonus on trade-ins, or no-cost EMI for up to 18 months (with extended standard EMI available up to 30 months). Only one of these can be selected per purchase. Pricing and specifications above are sourced directly from Samsung's official India announcement.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| 7 years of OS and security updates matches Samsung's flagship-tier commitment | Only one configuration (8GB/256GB) is available in India at launch, with no cheaper 128GB option |
| Bright 1,900-nit AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate holds up well outdoors | ₹79,999 starting price is a steep ₹20,000 jump over the Galaxy S25 FE's ₹59,999 launch price |
| Exynos 2500 (3nm) brings a genuine generational upgrade over the S25 FE's chipset | Charging is capped at 45W wired, slower than several similarly priced rivals |
| Versatile 50MP triple camera setup with a 3x optical zoom telephoto lens | Battery capacity carries over unchanged from last year's model |
| IP68 rating and a broad Galaxy AI feature set add real everyday value | Launch offers are mutually exclusive, so buyers can't combine cashback with trade-in bonuses |

The Galaxy S26 FE brings genuine flagship touches — a 3nm chipset, 3x optical zoom, and 7 years of updates — to Samsung's Fan Edition line, but the ₹79,999 starting price and the absence of a cheaper 128GB variant push it into a crowded segment against rivals like the OPPO Find X9s. It's a strong pick for buyers who specifically want Samsung's ecosystem and its industry-leading update commitment, while more price-sensitive buyers may want to wait and see if Samsung introduces a lower-cost storage tier later.
The Galaxy S26 FE is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2500 processor, built on a 3nm process.
The smartphone features a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits.

Yes, the Galaxy S26 FE has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It also features an aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is the first model in the Galaxy S26 lineup to launch with One UI 9, based on Android 17. It also includes Samsung's latest Galaxy AI features.
