Although it appeared on Chinese online shopping portal AliExpress and and a flyer of a Vietnamese e-tailer, there were doubts on the existence of the Huawei Nova 3i smartphone. Clearing the air, the Chinese conglomerate has now launched the smartphone with the latest Kirin 710 SoC, Huawei's first processor based on the 12nm node. The phone is now listed on Huawei’s online store in Philippines for PHP 15,990 (approx Rs 20,000). The Nova 3i is a toned-down version of the Huawei Nova 3 that was launched in China a week ago. We shall talk about Nova 3 later in the story, first let us find out what Huawei has to offer with the Nova 3i.

Huawei Nova 3i specs: The phone comes with a 6.3-inch LCD FullHD+ display and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has two AI-powered dual-camera setups, one each on the front and back. Huawei is marketing the Nova 3i as a selfie-centric device because it has a 24MP + 2MP sensor combo for the front shooter. In comparison, the rear camera setup has 16MP + 2MP lenses. With the 16x Super Slow Motion mode, users can record at 480 frames per second. Huawei has launched only one variant of the Nova 3i with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, which can be expanded up to 256 GB. It is powered by its long-awaited Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset. Interestingly, Huawei has unveiled the processor along with the Nova 3i by incorporating it in the smartphone. The SoC has four high-performance Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and an equal low-power Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The Kirin 710 brings with it 12nm structure and according to Huawei, the new SoC delivers better performance and saves more power.

Further, the phone runs on Android Oreo 8.1 with a Huawei’s EMUI 8.1 skin atop. The smartphone also has the company’s GPU Turbo technology which it claims can improve graphics processing efficiency by 60 percent while reducing the System on Chip (SoC) energy consumption by 30 percent. A 3,340mAh battery powers the phone. Unfortunately, it does not come with Super Charge support. The phone is now available in Black, White and Iris Purple colours for pre-order in Philippines. The company has bundled several offers with the phone. Those who pre-order the device from July 19 to July 27 will receive a free Bluetooth speaker.

As we mentioned above, the launch comes more than a week after the company unveiled the Nova 3 smartphone in China by means of a listing. The Nova 3 only went official alongside the Nova 3i and the phone is expected to launch in India on July 26 as an Amazon exclusive device. It is also possible that the company launches the Nova 3i in India along with the Nova 3.

Nova 3 Specs: The smartphone has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a notch. It is powered by a Kirin 970 SoC and will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB memory. In the camera department, the phone sports a dual-camera setup with a 16MP sensor combined with another 24MP secondary sensor. Huawei Nova 3 also has dual-cameras on the front – 24MP + 2MP – with the face unlock feature. The phone houses a 3,750mAh battery with Huawei’s Super Charge technology and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
