Apple had set a target compensation of $59 million for Cook, the same as in 2024. However, his total earnings were higher because he received additional incentive payouts tied to the company’s strong performance.
Other top Apple executives also received large pay packages. Outgoing general counsel Kate Adams, chief operating officer Sabih Khan, and retail and people chief Deirdre O’Brien each earned total compensation packages of around $27 million in 2025, reports MacRumors.
Apple also saw a change in its chief financial officer role in 2025. Former CFO Luca Maestri earned $15.5 million, while new CFO Kevan Parekh earned $22.5 million.
While Tim Cook remains the highest-paid executive, several other senior leaders earned millions, showing the importance of their work in running one of the world’s largest companies.
Meanwhile, rumours have circulated for weeks that Apple CEO Tim Cook might be preparing to step down after more than a decade in charge. According to recent reports, Cook has informed senior Apple executives that he will soon resign as CEO but will stay with the company as the Chairman of the board. Internally, Apple has reportedly been evaluating potential successors for Cook, with John Ternus, the company’s head of hardware engineering, emerging as a leading contender.
