Lenovo may soon launch a MacBook Neo competitor, and it comes in 7 colours

When Apple introduced the MacBook Neo earlier this year, it got the entire PC market talking. After all, it isn’t everyday that you see Apple launch an affordable laptop. Apart from coming with Apple’s reliability and stellar performance, the MacBook Neo also came in some very exciting colour options. So, it won’t be wrong to say that Apple added a splash of colour to a segment that honestly people didn’t really experimented with much. More recently, Dell launched its own relatively affordable compact laptop, the Dell XPS 13, competing directly with the MacBook Neo. And now, Lenovo is also reportedly preparing to hop on to the bandwagon.

As per some exclusive images obtained by Windows Latest, Lenovo is working on a new budget laptop called the IdeaPad Vibe, and it could be the company’s answer to the MacBook Neo. And the laptop is reportedly being tested in seven different colours. Yep, you read that right.

About the Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe 

The images shared by Windows Latest show the IdeaPad Vibe with a fairly clean and minimal design. The laptop appears to have thin bezels around the display, with a webcam positioned at the top. There is also a visible privacy shutter next to the camera, which is a nice addition for people who care about privacy.

The keyboard deck appears to be dark grey across the different colour variants, with white lettering on the keys. Lenovo has also placed speaker grilles on either side of the keyboard, while the trackpad sits below it in the centre.

But it is the colour options that really stand out. The IdeaPad Vibe is reportedly being developed in blush pink, bright yellow, terracotta orange-brown, sage green, navy blue, silver and mint teal.

The Lenovo logo is also placed in the centre of the lid and appears to use a tone-on-tone finish matching the colour of the laptop.

Another thing clear from the images is that this laptop won’t have any dearth of ports. The images show two USB-A ports and the power button on the right side of the laptop. On the left, there appear to be two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, a headphone jack and a microSD card slot.

Lenovo may offer both Snapdragon and AMD versions

The colour and connectivity options are not the only interesting details about the IdeaPad Vibe. According to Windows Latest, Lenovo appears to be working on at least two hardware variants of the laptop.

One version is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, while another could use an AMD chip.

There are no details about the exact processor models or other specifications yet. So, it would be too early to say anything about the performance of the laptop or how it will compare with the MacBook Neo.

However, offering both Snapdragon and AMD versions could give Lenovo some flexibility in the budget laptop segment. It would also mean that users could potentially choose between an ARM-based Windows laptop and a traditional x86-based option.

That said, it is to be noted that Lenovo hasn’t officially announced this product. So, all information is best taken with a pinch of salt.
