Apple has released the sixth developer beta of iOS 26, alongside updates for iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, macOS and more. With the official public launch expected in September, the latest beta doesn’t introduce big changes, but it does bring several small tweaks and features that refine the overall experience. These updates may seem subtle, but they’re aimed at making the system feel faster, smoother, and more visually appealing.

Apple iOS 26 beta 6: What’s new

In this update, Apple has added more variants of the Reflection ringtone, including Buoyant, Dreamer, Tech, Pop, Reflected and Surge. There’s also a new ringtone called Little Bird.

Toggles now have a Liquid Glass effect when tapped. On the lock screen, the Liquid Glass effect has been refined. The clock on the lock screen is now more transparent but still keeps its frosted glass style. Passcode buttons have also been made more translucent than before.

Navigation bars in apps have been slightly refined to improve translucency while keeping text easy to read. In some areas, the translucency has been increased, while in others, the background is made more opaque to ensure readability even against busy backgrounds.

Animations for opening and closing apps are now noticeably faster, with a subtle bounce effect that matches the updated animations on the Lock Screen and Control Center.

The Camera app has also seen a change. Classic Mode, which reverses the scroll direction when switching between camera modes, is now the default setting. The toggle to turn it on or off has been removed.
