If you talk about cleaning your house in India the same three words come to mind. Jhadoo (sweeping), Pocha (swabbing) and dusting. Fortunately, we are in a country where domestic help is easily available and the house is relatively clean.

A device like the vacuum cleaner though present in the average household is occasionally used. If you ask the question why, the common answer is that the vacuum cleaner isn’t as effective as other methods used to clean the house.

Dyson aims to solve these problems with the launch of the V8 Absolute Plus in India. The device is priced at Rs. 39,900 and ou get a bunch of accessories in the box.

The Dyson V8 Absolute Plus has a battery life of just 40 minutes and will take under 5 hours to reach full charge. It is too early to comment on whether it is enough battery life to clean a house. Since the device is hands free, it comes with a charging cum housing dock. The V8 plugs easily into this housing and there are three blue LED lights that indicate the charging status and battery life. The wall charger can house the V8 and two accessories. Three, if you accept the fact that the machine itself can house one accessory.

“We've spent more than a decade and over £350million developing our small and powerful digital motors. Our latest generation motor sits at the heart of the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum. It’s the result of 18 months of research and development, and 500,000 hours of testing. This motor enables the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum cleaner to be powerful and versatile, transforming the way people clean their homes,” said James Dyson.

Speaking at the launch event today, Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer and member of the Dyson Board, said, “We are pleased to bring our latest technology to India. Dyson engineers have spent time undertaking research in homes across India to understand how our technology can help solve problems. We are launching a range of products, using our patented technology, which we believe will bring meaningful benefits.”

Depending on the surface you are going to tackle, the V8 Absolute Plus comes with a bunch of accessories. In the video below you can see a detailed breakdown of all the accessories in action.
