Battlegrounds Mobile India players have exciting news, as the BGMI 4.2 update is now live across India. This update brings new gameplay features, smoother movement, and a strong Indian touch through a special collaboration. Krafton has focused on making the game more fun without making it hard for regular players. The update adds new modes, weapons, and forest-themed battlegrounds, along with new abilities and interactive features that change how matches feel. Indian players will also see regional content, special events, and popular Indian bike brands in the game. Here’s everything you need to know about the latest BGMI 4.2 update.

BGMI 4.2: Release date and time

The BGMI 4.2 update is rolling out in a phased manner in India on January 15, 2026, to avoid server overload. Android users start seeing the update from 6:30 AM IST onwards, and it gets wider availability between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM IST.

For iOS users, the rollout starts between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM IST, and the full rollout will be finished by 12:30 PM IST. Players will be able to download the update from the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, or the official BGMI website.

BGMI x Royal Enfield collaboration

The major update in the game comes from the collaboration of BGMI with the renowned brand Royal Enfield. Players would be able to get the Bullet 350 and Continental GT 650 bikes in the game from January 19 onwards. The collaboration also brings new rewards based on the brand in the form of SPIN events from January 19 to January 22. The events would have exclusive rewards like clothes, guns, helmets, backpacks, and more.

a. New modes and themes

The Primewood Genesis mode takes place in a magical forest with special interactive features. It includes a Tree of Life that can become a hiding place for the players when fighting. Furthermore, the players may also come across a Corrupting Flower which contains poison and is fatal if the player comes into contact with it, instantly killing the player. Lastly, the theme also includes a golden fruit which provides the player with a bulletproof jacket and can also resurrect the player if it is defeated on the ground during a fight.

b. New vehicles and movement options

The latest BGMI 4.2 update adds new ride options in the game, which include the Thorn Scorpion and the Cherry Blossom Deer. Both of these rides offer faster movement and special escape abilities to the players. Moreover, the Flora Wings introduced in the fresh update allow players to glide through the air and reach locations quickly.

c. New abilities and items

Aside from the new modes or vehicles, the new update has also introduced some new features like the Prime Eye feature, which grants players special abilities like Barrier, Teleport, and Heal. These skills can help players defend positions, move quickly during fights, or recover health when needed. Furthermore, players also receive unique powers using companions like the Thorn Scorpion and Cherry Blossom Deer.

d. Weapons and gameplay improvements

In terms of firepower, the new update brings in a new weapon called the Honey Badger, which heals players after securing eliminations. Furthermore, the weapon balance now changes to improve assault rifles while slightly reducing shotgun power. Gyroscope aiming has also been refined; controls are also tuned to feel smoother. Lastly, the players can now deploy parachutes just before landing.

The update also brings back the Skyhigh Spectacle mode in Metro Royale. Furthermore, with the introduction of a new Royale Pass, the players will now see new crate coupons, emotes, outfits, and other rewards.

India-specific BGMI 4.2 updates

The developers also added special features for one of the biggest gaming markets, India. Indian players get Bhojpuri voice packs, events made for India, Royal Enfield-themed content, and chances to earn free UC. An auto-reconnect feature lets players quickly rejoin a match if their internet suddenly disconnects.
