Difference between Instagram’s verified badges and Meta Verified

Verified badges on Instagram are different from Meta Verified. Verified badges confirm that a notable account is the authentic presence for that person or brand.

On the other hand, Meta Verified is a paid subscription that confirms that the account is validated and authentic. The Meta Verified subscription comes with a bundle of features and benefits.

Note that if you already have an existing verified badge, you can still sign up for Meta Verified.

How to request a verified badge for your Instagram profile

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your Android device or iPhone.

Step 2: Make sure that you’re logged in to the account for which you want to request a verified badge.

Step 3: Tap your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.

Step 4: Tap the three horizontal lines present in the top right corner.

Step 5: Select the Settings and privacy option.

Step 6: Below For professionals, tap the Account type and tools option or Creator tools and controls.

Step 7: Tap Request verification.

Step 8: Now, enter your full name and provide the required form of identification.

Step 9: Follow the on-screen instructions, then tap Submit.

It’s important to note that if your account is eligible for verification, submitting a request doesn’t guarantee that your Instagram account will be verified. Also, submitting multiple verified badge requests doesn’t guarantee that your account will be verified and applying for a verified badge multiple times before receiving a decision will cancel your application.

Keep in mind that verifying your Instagram will not verify your Facebook account. Verified accounts can’t change the account’s name or transfer that verification onto a different account.
