HIGHLIGHTS

The new recharge by Idea comes with a validity of 84 days and offers 1GB daily 3G data. It also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming outgoing calls.

Idea has launched a new Rs 509 prepaid plan exclusively for its Delhi-NCR region subscribers. The recharge offers 1GB of 3G data daily with unlimited local, STD and roaming outgoing calls for 84 days. It should be noted that users will be charged for incoming calls while on roaming and get 3G speeds, not 4G. Additionally, the prepaid plan offers 100 free national SMSs and users will also get 1GB of free extra data for 28 days if they recharge via the My Idea App or Idea’s website.

The new recharge by Idea rivals the Rs 509 prepaid option by both Jio and Airtel. The Airtel Rs 509 prepaid recharge offers 1GB of daily 4G data with unlimited local, STD calling and 100 SMS per day for 84 days, whereas Reliance Jio offers 2GB 4G data per day along with unlimited national calls with free roaming and SMS with the validity of 49 days.

There is also a Rs 459 plan by Jio which offers 1GB of high-speed 4G data per day along with unlimited free calls and SMS. The recharge is valid for 84 days and also gives unlimited access to Jio’s suite of apps like JioTV, Jio News and more.

Apart from Idea and Airtel, Vodafone recently announced a new prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 349. Under the plan, users will get 1.5GB of 4G/3G data per day along with unlimited local and STD calling for 28 days. The unlimited calling is capped at 250 minutes every day or 1000 minutes per week and users will be charged 1p per second after exhausting the FUP.
