Xiaomi has announced that the MIUI 9 Global Stable ROM is now available for all compatible handsets. The announcement was made by the company's Global VP and India Head, Manu Jain via Twitter. He also noted that the update was rolled out to devices like the Mi 3 and Redmi 1S, which were launched nearly 4 years ago. “As promised, #MIUI9 is now available for all devices! @XiaomiIndia is committed to bringing the best and the latest OS to all our Mi Fans. That's why we're even updating the phones that were launched almost 4 years ago - Mi 3 and Redmi 1S,” Jain said in his tweet.

The complete list of smartphones that have gotten the update include the Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3S, Redmi 3S Prime, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 4, Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Mi Max 2, Mi Mix 2.

Besides the list of names, Jain also posted a link to the MIUI forums that offers the links to the changelogs for all devices as well as the Recovery ROMs and Fastboot ROMs. You can check them out yourself by clicking here.

To recall, Xiaomi had announced that it was planning to update 40 of its devices to MIUI 9 back in January this year. The list even included devices like the Mi 2, which were launched back in 2012. It should be noted that MIUI 9 is based on Android Nougat, and not Android Oreo. However the next update, MIUI 10, should be based on Oreo. Last month, it was reported that the company may be planning to roll out the MIUI 10 update to as many as 32 of its devices.
