Xiaomi may already have launched its entire lineup of this year’s Redmi devices in India, but it seems like the company isn't done yet. XDA Developers reports that the company may be planning to launch a device called the Xiaomi Redmi 2S in India. The website dug around the firmware, and reports that the smartphone may be an entry-level device with a dual-rear camera setup and facial unlock. The device is tipped to feature an 18:9 display with a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. It is listed as being powered by a  Snapdragon 625 SoC, which is the same one that is used on the standard Redmi Note 5. For storage, the report notes that the device has a 16GB variant, but it is not yet known if there will be additional storage variants.

The secondary sensor is tipped to be a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. In terms of camera features, the phone is tipped to come with EIS, Portrait Mode, and Face Unlock.

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is also expected to feature a 3080mAh battery, which combined with the Snapdragon 625 SoC, should offer decent battery life. At least on paper.
