The Vivo S1 is all set to be launched in India today, August 7. The global variant of the smartphone was released in Indonesia last month, so most of the specifications are expected to be the same for the Indian variant. However, the highlights of the device include a triple rear camera setup, a 4,500mAh battery, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Vivo S1 is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.

Vivo S1 launch time, expected price

The Vivo S1 will be launched in India today, August 7, at 4:30pm. As for the global variant, the smartphone was launched in Indonesia at IDR 3,599,000 (roughly Rs. 18,000). Also, there have been reports that the smartphone could be launched at a starting price of Rs 17,990 in India. The base variant, 4GB RAM + 128GB storage could be priced at Rs 17,990. The other two variants, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage could be priced at Rs 19,990 and Rs 24,990, respectively

Vivo S1 specifications

The global variant of the Vivo S1 features a 6.38-inch (1080×2340 pixel resolution) Full HD+ Super AMOLED display alongside a waterdrop notch. The smartphone is powered by the Helio P65 mobile platform, paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As for the fingerprint scanner, it resides under the display. The device runs Funtouch OS 9 based on Android 9 Pie.

In the optics department, the Vivo S1 sports a triple camera setup: a 16MP primary camera with an f/1.78 aperture lens, an 8MP secondary wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a tertiary 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture lens. It also has a 32MP front camera for crisp selfies. 

The Vivo S1 is packed with a 4,500mAh battery in the global variant. In Indonesia, it was launched in two colour variants, namely, Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue.
