HP launches OmniPad 12, new Omnibook and Elitebook laptops in India: All you need to know
Earlier this year, HP introduced its new AI-powered laptops and showcased it to the world. And now, these devices have been launched in India. At an event in New Delhi on May 11, HP showcased several new devices, including the all-new Omnibook and Elitebook laptops along with the OmniPad 12 tablet.
SurveyIpsita Dasgupta, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, HP India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, said HP aims to support India’s growing technology adoption journey with connected experiences. She said, “In this adoption journey, our focus is to play a meaningful role by enabling access to technology that supports everyday progress and opportunity. With this launch, we are bringing together a more connected experience across PCs, printers, and HP solutions, designed to support a wide range of users and real-world use cases.”
About new HP EliteBook and OmniBook laptops
HP’s newly launched EliteBook, ProBook, and OmniBook lineup focuses heavily on AI-powered productivity and portability. The new business-focused lineup includes the HP EliteBook X G2 series, EliteBook 8 G2 series, and ProBook 4 G2 series. These laptops are powered by Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm processors and offer up to 85 TOPS of AI performance. In addition to this, HP also claims that the devices feature enterprise-grade security tools such as HP Wolf Security and HP Sure View. In addition to this, there are several AI-enhanced collaboration tools for hybrid work environments.
For the regular consumers, there are the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 series laptops, OmniBook X 14, OmniBook 5, and OmniBook 3. The company says these laptops are designed for creators and modern users looking for premium lightweight machines with AI features.
The OmniBook lineup delivers up to 80 TOPS of AI performance and includes features such as posture correction, gesture controls, and HP’s compact GaN charger for easier portability. HP is also offering the laptops in multiple colour options. So, if you prefer some strong aesthetics, you will likely be happy here.
HP also announced HP IQ, an on-device AI platform designed to improve productivity through contextual assistance, meeting note capture, document analysis, and seamless device connectivity.
OmniPad 12 could appeal to students
Apart from the laptops, HP also unveiled a brand new tablet that also turns into a PC when needed. Say hello, to the HP OmniPad 12.
HP said during the event that this device is for students and first-time buyers who are looking for a tablet as well as a laptop. And the best part here is that the device costs less than Rs 50,000.
Now usually, devices in this category become much more expensive once you add accessories like a keyboard. However, HP is bundling a detachable keyboard in the box itself, which means that you do not have to spend extra money to unlock the full laptop-style experience. The device also comes with a dedicated button via which users can switch between tablet mode for entertainment and portability, and laptop mode for typing assignments, attending online classes, or casual work.
On the specs side, the tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and runs on Android. It comes with a 12-inch display and a promised battery life of up to 18 hours.

Price and availability
Now, let’s talk about when these devices will be available in India and how much will they cost. To begin with, the HP OmniPad 12 will be available starting June 2026 via the HP online store, Amazon, Reliance, and HP World stores at a starting price of Rs 48,999.
On the other hand, The HP EliteBook X G2 series starts at Rs 2,50,000, while the EliteBook 8 G2 series starts at Rs 2,30,000. The ProBook 4 G2 series starts at Rs 1,35,000. All of these devices are already available across HP online stores.
Meanwhile, the HP OmniBook Ultra 14 with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors starts at Rs 1,89,999, while the Intel-powered variant starts at Rs 2,14,999. The HP OmniBook X starts at Rs 1,69,999, and the OmniBook 5 starts at Rs 1,24,999. All these laptops are also available already at HP online stores.
