The biggest announcement this year is expected to be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra.
Alongside the foldable model, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple is reportedly gearing up for its annual hardware event, where it is expected to introduce its next-generation Pro models and several other products. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company has already started preparing press announcements, the keynote video, advertisements, store materials and launch plans. Apple has also reportedly told its retail employees that the event will take place in the first half of September. While an official date has not been announced yet, Gurman believes September 9 is the most likely date. Keep reading to know what you can expect from this year’s event.

Apple usually holds its annual iPhone event on the second Tuesday or Wednesday of September. This year, Labour Day falls on Monday, September 7. The company generally avoids holding an event immediately after a weekend as it gives attendees time to travel. So, Wednesday, September 9, is said to be the most likely date for the event.

The biggest announcement this year is expected to be Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which is rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra. It would mark Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone market, which is currently dominated by Samsung.
Alongside the foldable model, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The company may also unveil the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. As per the report, a new Apple TV and an updated HomePod mini may also be ready for launch this fall.
As for iPhone pre-orders, Apple usually starts accepting orders on the Friday after its launch event. However, September 11 this year marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. So, Apple is unlikely to open pre-orders that day. The company could instead begin taking orders on Saturday, September 12.
