Samsung has launched the 2016 editions of the Galaxy J5 and J7 in India. The two devices are priced at Rs. 13,990 and Rs. 15,990 respectively and will be exclusively available via Flipkart from May 10. Both devices come with 2GB of RAM and offer 16GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card. In addition, both run Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 and come with ‘S Bike Mode’ that was introduced in the Galaxy J3 smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon SoC. The phone is equipped with a 3100mAh battery and also sports 13MP/5MP cameras with LED flash for both. The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos processor. Like the J5, the device comes with 13MP and 5MP cameras with LED flash for both. The phone also has a 3300mAh battery.

The ‘S Bike Mode’ was introduced with the Samsung Galaxy J3 that was launched in March this year. The feature is aimed at helping motorcycle riders concentrate on the road and not get distracted by calls or notifications. Buyers get an NFC tag that they need to attach to their bikes and tapping the phone would activate the feature. Once activated, any incoming calls would be greeted with a pre-recorded message in one of 14 Indian languages. In case of any emergencies, callers can press 1 to make the call go through. However, the feature activates a motion lock that doesn't allow the call to be received if the bike is moving.
