The Honor 8X comes powered by the company’s Kirin 710 SoC, which is based on a 12nm architecture. It will be the successor to last year's Honor 7X.

At an event in Dubai, Honor announced the global launch of its Honor 8X smartphone and has also confirmed that it will be launched in India on October 16. The smartphone was announced earlier this month, alongside the Honor 8X Max, but it was a China exclusive device till now. Featuring an all-glass back and a dual-rear camera setup, the Honor 8X boasts of a 6.5-inch notched screen, with an 18.7:9 display aspect ratio. The company has priced the Honor 8X at AED999 (Rs 19,930 approx) in Dubai, but it is expected to be priced slightly lower in India to compete against the likes of the Realme 2 Pro (review), Redmi Note 5 Pro (review) and others. 

Honor 8X specifications 

The Honor 8X is powered by an Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC. It comes in two variants, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and another with 6GB RAM, coupled with options of either 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. As mentioned earlier, it features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ TFT IPS notched display with 1080×2340 resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. Running on EMUI 8.2.0 OS atop Android 8.1 Oreo, the whole package is powered by a 3750mAh battery.

Coming to the optics, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual camera setup with an LED flash on the back. Here, the primary camera has a 20MP sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and there’s a 2MP secondary sensor. On the front, it comes with a 16MP lens with a f/2.0 aperture. It also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.

In China, the Honor 8X was announced at a starting price of Yuan 1,399 (approx Rs 14,700) for the 4GB/64GB model, while its 6GB/64GB model costs Yuan 1,599 (approx Rs 16,800 ). It is priced at Yuan 1,899 (approx Rs 20,000) for the 6GB/128GB variant.
