Apple iPhone SE 4 to feature Action Button, USB-C Port, Face ID & more: Report
Apple's iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature an Action Button, USB-C Port and Face ID.
It is also expected to feature a 48-megapixel rear camera, and a new OLED panel.
Apple is working on its own 5G modem, codenamed "Sinope," and is reportedly testing it in the iPhone SE 4.
Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone SE smartphone is anticipated to feature significant changes in both its design and hardware. According to a new report, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature an Action Button, USB-C Port, Face ID and more.
According to a report by MacRumors, citing sources, the upcoming iPhone SE 4, known internally as “Ghost,” is expected to feature a fresh design that draws almost entirely from the base model iPhone 14.

The iPhone SE 4 will likely adopt a modified version of the iPhone 14 chassis, and is expected to maintain iPhone 14 test parameters for internal testing.
In terms of chassis enhancements, two significant changes are expected: the inclusion of an Action button and the introduction of a USB-C port. The Action button, recently introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro, is a multi-purpose button which replaces the mute switch found on more recent iPhone models. It offers customisable functionality, allowing users to configure it to perform a range of actions tailored to their preferences.

Speaking of the back of the device, the upcoming iPhone SE is expected to sport a single camera, accompanied by a flash aligned in an arrangement similar to the third-generation iPhone SE. The exact design of the camera bump is still unclear.
According to the report, Apple has created at least five different designs for the camera bump, with subtle variations among them. These designs can be categorised into two main types: A camera and flash housed within a single, oblong-shaped camera bump, and a camera ring elevated above the main backplate surface.
Moreover, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a 48-megapixel rear camera, and a new OLED panel. The device might not come with a Touch ID home button, but will likely instead have Face ID as the means of biometric identification.
Apple is working on its own 5G modem, codenamed “Sinope,” and is testing it in the iPhone SE 4 and a derivative of the iPhone 15 Pro Max called “D84S,” the report said. Originally, this modem was planned for the iPhone 16 lineup, but now it might come sooner.
“It’s worth noting that the information presented here is preliminary, pre-preproduction information. The fourth-generation iPhone SE is still early in the development process, and changes are always possible,” the report explained.
