According to rumours, Apple may release the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air (instead of the iPhone 17 Plus), iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Ultra (in place of the iPhone 17 Pro Max) this year. While it is too early to confirm, here is everything we know about the upcoming vanilla trim.

iPhone 17 launch timeline (expected)

Apple may introduce the iPhone 17 series this September, which is expected within the first two weeks of the month. Apple has been hosting its annual fall launch event in September and iPhone 17 is likely to follow the same. However, the exact dates are yet to be announced.

iPhone 17 price (expected)

With Trump imposing high tariffs on goods imported from China, it is difficult to pin down the launch price of the iPhone 17 this year. However, last year, Apple didn’t raise the cost of the iPhone 16 in the US, launching it at a starting price of $799 (roughly Rs 67,000). In India, the iPhone 16 was unveiled at a starting price of Rs 79,900, and the iPhone 17 is likely to come at the same price.

iPhone 17 specifications (expected)

This year, Apple is likely to ditch the Plus-sized iPhone and introduce a new, lighter model tentatively called iPhone 17 Air. Rumours suggest the new iPhone may debut as the slimmest Apple has ever launched. Additionally, the tech giant is tipped to bring a 120Hz refresh rate to the non-Pro models—a significant upgrade from the 60Hz display.

In terms of camera, the iPhone 17 lineup is speculated to get a 24MP front camera and dual 48-megapixel rear cameras. Furthermore, Apple is also speculated to increase the display size from 6.1 inches to 6.3-inch on standard models. The Dynamic Island is likely to continue, however, it could get smaller and more refined. In terms of rear design, the upcoming smartphone could retain the same pill-shaped dual-camera setup at the back.

Other leaked details include the new A19 chip, built on a more advanced 3-nanometre fabrication process for the non-Pro iPhone 17 models and improved battery life.
