GTA 6 release date: After waiting for over 10 long years, Rockstar Games has finally announced the GTA 6 release date. The much-anticipated open-world game and GTA 5 successor will be released globally in May of next year. In December 2023, the company shared its first trailer hinting at massive upgrades including a big Vice City-inspired map, the first-ever female protagonist, better graphics, and of course insane gameplay with close real-life gameplay.
SurveyOn X, Rockstar Games confirmed the GTA 6 release date as May 26, 2026, and apologised for the delay. Earlier, the game maker announced that GTA 6 would be released in 2025. “We apologise that this is later than expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto game has been truly inspiring for our entire team. We’d like to thank you for your support and patience as we work to complete the game,” the company wrote.
Speaking of the reason, the company stated that it wants to exceed the expectations of gamers. “With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve,” the company added.
GTA 6 trailer 2 release
While there is no official word about the GTA 6 trailer 2 at the moment, the company has mentioned “We look forward to sharing more information with you soon.”
GTA 6 maps, gameplay
GTA 6 will introduce the first-ever female character, named Lucia. However, like GTA 5, GTA 6 will be a multiple-character storyline with more realistic characters, improved police chases, and better stealth mechanics. The game could also delve deeper into the digital mechanics, making it more interesting to plan heists, missions or do other things.
GTA 6 map will be based on the state of Leonida and will bring back the feel of Vice City with improved graphics, bigger functional maps, and improved gameplay.
GTA 6 price, pre-order expectations
GTA 6 price may start at around Rs 5,999 in India for the standard edition while the special edition with mods could be priced at Rs 7,299. In the USA, the GTA 6 price could be around $100. There is no official word about the pre-orders at the moment.
