Leaked: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 SoC beats Apple’s A12 Bionic, Huawei Kirin 980 in AnTuTu scores
HIGHLIGHTS

According to an image leaked on Weibo, the Snapdragon 8150 chip scored 362,292 overall points as compared to Huawei Kirin 980 (273,913) and Apple's A12 Bionic (353,210).

Qualcomm is expected to launch its Snapdragon 8150 next month but AnTuTu scores might have already leaked. According to a tipster, Snapdragon 8150 has performed way better than the recently-launched Huawei Kirin 980 processor and has marginally defeated Apple’s A12 Bionic chip on AnTuTu benchmarks. The tipster also claims that the Qualcomm chipset comes in an unusual core configuration which could have been the reason that the chipset scored higher than other flagship SoCs.

A Weibo user posted an image on the chinese social media platform which shows the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip scoring a whopping 362,292 overall points as compared to the Kirin 980’s 273,913 points and Apple A12 Bionic’s 353,210. The leakster says that the Snapdragon 8150 comes in a 1+3+4 configuration with one high-performance core, three medium cores and four energy-efficient low-performance cores.

The CPU's high-performance Cortex-A76 core is clocked at 2.84 GHz, the three medium ones (Cortex-A76) are clocked at 2.4 GHz and the smaller Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.78 GHz. The GPU scores 156,328 which is reportedly 20 percent increase in raw performance over the Adreno 630 in company’s previous flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 845. The scores are not verified by anyone so we have to take it with a pinch of salt.

The benchmark score came up almost two weeks after some reviewers ran Geekbench’s Single-core and Multi-core benchmark tests on the chip. According to those tests, the Snapdragon 8150 was definitely faster than the current flagship Snapdragon 845 as well as the Kirin 980 on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but it wasn't anywhere close to the Apple's A12 Bionic on the 2018 iPhone lineup or even the new A12X Bionic on the iPad Pro. Interestingly, the Snapdragon 8150 coulnd't even beat last year’s Apple A11 Bionic chip on the iPhone X. Yet, AnTuTu 7.0's benchmark scores are allegedly telling a whole different story altogether.
