Meta is reportedly stepping up its efforts to create an “AI-first” workplace by giving employees more access to artificial intelligence tools from other companies. The social media giant is encouraging its staff to use AI in almost every aspect of their work. Internal documents and posts reviewed by Business Insider reveal that the company is focused on integrating AI into daily tasks and workflows.
SurveyOne of Meta’s main goals is to “make AI core to how we work,” said Atish Banerjea, Meta’s chief information officer, in a June memo. The memo outlined plans for employees to use Meta’s own AI models, which carry the Llama name, alongside tools developed by other firms.

In an internal post in November, a Meta engineer shared that staff now have access to Google’s Gemini 3 Pro and OpenAI’s ChatGPT-5. The post also included a detailed list of AI tools available to employees and their potential use cases. Some of the models mentioned included GPT 4.1 and GPT-5 Thinking.
A Meta spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider that the company has expanded the AI tools for employees, stating, “It’s well-known that this is a priority, and we’re focused on using AI to help employees with their day-to-day work.”

The move reflects Meta’s broader strategy to make artificial intelligence a central part of its operations. By giving employees access to a wide variety of AI tools, both in-house and from other companies, the company aims to boost productivity and innovation across teams.
