Apple is increasing the price of its streaming service, Apple TV+. Starting immediately, the monthly subscription will rise from $9.99 to $12.99, representing a $3 increase. The change will apply right away for new subscribers. Existing users, however, will see the updated price reflected 30 days after their current billing cycle ends, Apple spokesperson Tom Neumayr confirmed to The Verge.
SurveyThe company is keeping its annual Apple TV+ subscription at $99, and the price increase will not impact Apple One bundles, which begin at $19.95 per month.

This is not the first time Apple has raised the cost of its streaming service. Apple TV+ first launched in 2019 at $4.99 per month, and the subscription saw its last increase in 2023. According to a recent report from The Information, the platform is losing over $1 billion each year. NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, also recently raised its prices by $3, showing that streaming platforms are generally adjusting costs in response to growth challenges and investments in content.
“Since it launch, Apple TV+ has expanded its deep library of hundreds of Apple Originals, with thousands of hours of premium programming across genres and brand-new releases weekly — all ad-free,” Neumayr said.
The Apple TV+ service is considered one of the company’s most popular offerings. Even so, the financial reports suggest that it continues to operate at a significant loss, highlighting the competitive and expensive nature of the streaming market.
For those planning to sign up, the revised monthly rate of $12.99 will now be the standard, while loyal users on annual plans or Apple One bundles will continue with their current pricing.
In India, however, the price of the monthly plan has not been affected. It is still priced at Rs 99 per month.
