Reports suggest that the iPhone maker is secretly working on some crazy features in its “secret AI lab.” For this, it is even bringing onboard talent from Google.

Reports suggest that the tech giant has brought on board at least 36 experts from Google. This is to enable and expedite its AI development process. Further, reports also reveal that Apple has set up a secret AI lab in Zurich, Switzerland for AI research and development. This is headed by John Giannandrea.

What could Apple do at its secret AI lab?

Speaking of this secret AI lab, it has an expert team that focuses on advancing AI models to seamlessly integrate text and visual inputs for more intuitive user interactions. Apple is also putting to use the insights that it gained from a decade of Siri research. We might get to see AI-enabled features like Notes, Mail, Fitness, and Photos, with iOS 18.

The notes app, in particular, could see a major AI upgrade. The app can get features such as an integrated calculator. According to Mark Gurman, we will get to see a smarter Siri too. Not just this, AI will further improve apps such as Shortcuts, Spotlight, Messages, and Apple Music. Moreover, users can also expect customization options for Safari Browsing Assistant, Voice Memos, and Apple Maps, enhancing personalization and usability.
