Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson headline the series, supported by an ensemble cast and a story about transformation from widows to undercover operatives.
The spy drama series Ponies is set to premiere soon on OTT platforms. Blending espionage, drama, and dark humour, the show is set during the Cold War era and highlights a group of unexpected heroes. The series stars two women, Bea and Twila, in lead roles and focuses on how their ordinary lives change after a sudden personal tragedy. For viewers who prefer watching shows at home, here is a simple and complete look at everything known so far about Ponies, including its OTT release, platform, and story.
Ponies will be released exclusively on JioHotstar in India starting January 16, 2026. Viewers in the United States will be able to stream the series on Peacock from January 15, 2026. All eight episodes of the series will be available to watch from day one.
The series follows Bea and Twila, two ordinary women whose lives are shattered when their husbands, CIA operatives, die in a plane crash in the Soviet Union. Struggling to cope with this new reality, they are unexpectedly recruited as undercover agents by the CIA. Taking into consideration how these two women seem to be harmless and unimportant, they receive the code name ‘PONIES’, which means ‘persons of no interest’.
This title gives Bea and Twila the ability to go in and out of hazardous political environments without suspicion. As the plot continues to unravel, the series promises to follow the characters’ transition from bereaved widows into sure-footed, cool operatives, while Cold War tensions and KGB-related conspiracies are unravelled. With its dynamic storyline and high-calibre performance, Ponies aims to provide an exciting binge-worthy experience.
