Samsung One UI 9 India rollout: Galaxy S26 series may get Android 17 update this week

Samsung has already started rolling out its all-new One UI 9 in the global market. The Galaxy S26 series users in the United States were the first to receive the update after the home audience. The industry watchers also expect the South Korean tech giant to roll out the operating system update for the Indian as well as the South Asian consumers soon. While the company has not yet officially announced a release date, leaks and rumours suggest that it could arrive as early as this week. SurveyOne UI 9: India rollout
Samsung has started the global rollout of One UI 9. Consumers in the United States were the latest to receive the update, with the rollout beginning there yesterday. However, at the time of writing, Samsung has not announced when users in India will receive One UI 9. Industry experts believe that Galaxy S26 series users could get the update as early as this week.
One UI 9: What will you get?
One UI 9 brings Android 17 features to Galaxy phones, which includes the all-new My FanCam feature that can help track a person in a video and keep the camera focused on them. It could be useful for concerts, sports and family events.
Other than that, you also get Now Brief, which is a generative and editable card, giving users more control over summaries. Now Nudge is yet another feature which is introduced with the upcoming One UI 9 and can offer suggestions based on activity inside apps. Moreover, it can also help save reservation details or locations shared in conversations without leaving the screen.
Creative Studio, Interpreter, Document Scanner and Voice Recorder also get updates. Whereas, Security Brief and privacy notices can highlight risks such as suspicious app behaviour and permission requests. Warranty and Care brings warranty details and Samsung Care+ management into Settings.

One UI 9: Eligible devices
Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S26 series as the first devices for the One UI 9 rollout. The Galaxy S25 and S25 FE, Galaxy S24 and S24 FE, and Galaxy S23 and S23 FE are also on the list.
The update will also reach foldables, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
