Xiaomi has been among the leading brands in the air purifier space, alongside makers such as Honeywell. Both companies are known for offering value-packed products at a competitive price. Xiaomi sells its latest and most premium air purifier under the Mijia label for Rs 17,999. A direct rival to the product is Honeywell’s Air Touch P2, which offers competitive coverage area, CADR, filtration and more features.
While Honeywell offers a filter life of up to 9,000 hours (or one year), the Xiaomi packs 5-sensor-based (temperature, humidity, dust, PM1 and PM2.5) AQI monitoring, among its notable USPs. Filtration: Xiaomi’s air purifier offers a five-stage filtration system (primary filter, a high-efficiency filter, activated carbon filter, UVC sterilisation and fresh negative Ions). In comparison, the Air Touch P2 gets a 4-stage filtration process using a pre-filter, nano-silver antibacterial filter, H13 HEPA filter and activated Carbon filter. It is also equipped with UV LED technology to kill bacteria.
Coverage area and noise levels: Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 gets up to 940 square feet of coverage, while Honeywell claims the Touch P2 can cover an area of up to 853 square feet. While the Air Purifier 6 is claimed to offer 32dB noise levels, the Air Touch P2 offers quieter 23dB noise levels.
CADR: The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 offers a Clean Air Delivery Rate of 443 cubic meters per hour, while the Air Touch P2 brings a CADR of 550 cubic meters per hour. While both air purifiers have a display to indicate PM2.5 levels and other information, Xiaomi’s offering has a coloured unit, which offers more details.
App connectivity: The Air Purifier 6 bring smart controls from the Xiaomi Home app and Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, and voice controls with Google Home and Alexa. Honeywell Air Touch P2 can be remotely controlled via Alexa and the Wi-Fi-enabled Honeywell Air Touch app.
