Specifications and features

Both models offer a 4K IPS panel in a 16:9 aspect ratio. The 27-inch MA270UP peaks at 450 nits of brightness and carries a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. The 32-inch MA320UP goes higher at 600 nits with VESA DisplayHDR 600, making it better suited for HDR video playback and brighter rooms.

The Nano Gloss panel is designed to enhance contrast and perceived clarity while maintaining colour depth. In daily use, this should result in deeper blacks and punchier visuals compared to standard matte IPS panels, especially for media consumption and creative work. However, users working in very bright environments may still prefer BenQ’s Nano Matte variants, which prioritise reflection control.

Connectivity is centred around USB-C. A single cable can handle 4K video, data, and power delivery, up to 90W on the primary USB-C port, enough to charge most MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models. A secondary USB-C port with 15W power delivery, along with HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort, adds flexibility for multi-device setups.

The ergonomic stand supports height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot, which is useful for long workdays and portrait use, especially on the 27-inch model.

On the software side, features like iDevice Color Sync automatically detect connected MacBook models and apply matching colour profiles. This removes the need for manual calibration and reduces visible colour shifts between the laptop screen and the external monitor. M-book Mode and ICCsync further simplify colour management when switching between apps or devices.

In practical terms, this makes the MA270UP and MA320UP appealing to users who are not colour experts but still want consistency across screens for photo editing, video work, or even simple tasks like document editing and browsing.

These will compete against LG’s UltraFine and Dell’s UltraSharp 4K series, though macOS-specific features are more limited in those.
