Vodafone Idea (Vi) has updated a host of new voice-only recharge plans on its website. This comes after telecom operator Airtel unveiled three new voice-only plans following a direction from the Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), which mandated availability of voice-only tariffs that do not include data benefits in the recharge packs listing of telecom companies. The watchdog observed a dearth of voice-only plans and instructed companies to fill this void using recharges that offer only calling benefits.
This will give Vi subscribers, especially Wi-Fi connection owners, people who own multiple SIMs and feature phone users, among others, an option to recharge at a lower cost and avoid paying extra for mobile data. If you are a Vi subscriber and need a plan only for calling purposes, here are the details of the new voice-only plans.
Vi voice-only plans (without data)
Rs 185: The new plan comes with 28 days of validity. As for the benefits, the recharge includes unlimited calling and 300 SMS. The per-day cost of the recharge is Rs 6.6.
Rs 203: This recharge pack offers unlimited calls and 300 SMS for 30 days. This plan has a per-day recharge cost of Rs 6.7.
Rs 206: The recharge pack gets unlimited calling and 300 SMS. It offers a validity of one month. The per day cost of this recharge varies depending on the days in a calendar month.
Meanwhile, there is also a Rs 179 voice-only plan which is valid for 25 days, costing Rs 7.16 per day. The recharge offers perks such as unlimited calls, 300 SMS and access to Vi Movies and TV. The app offers a wide roster of Bollywood movies, TV shows, live news and more.
Meanwhile, if you want a recharge plan with mobile data, you can consider the Rs 199 plan. It offers 2GB data, unlimited calls and 300 SMS per day for 28 days.
