Idea rivals Jio with Rs 109 recharge, offers unlimited calls with 1GB data for 14 days

The new Idea prepaid recharge plan offers unlimited local and STD calls restricted to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. Users will also get 1GB 4G/3G data and 100 SMS per day for a validity of 14 days.

Idea has introduced a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 109 which offers unlimited calls, data and more. Under the recharge, Idea subscribers will get Unlimited Local and STD calls on Roaming along with 1GB of 4G/3G/2G data, depending on their circle and network. They will also get 100 SMS per day with the recharge which is valid for 14 days. Idea also has a prepaid plan priced at Rs 93, which offers the same benefits as the new Rs 109 prepaid plan, but with a shorter validity of 10 days.

It should be noted that the new recharge plan's availability varies depending on the user's telecom circle and one should check before recharging. Also, the unlimited calling is restricted to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week after which a user will be charged at 1 paisa per second for all local, national, and roaming calls. This new plan from Idea rivals Jio’s Rs 98 prepaid plan, which offers 2GB of 4G data along with unlimited local and STD calling, with unrestricted access to Jio’s suite of apps like JioTV, JioCinema and more. Also, after the 2GB data limit is exceeded, internet speeds will be reduced to 64Kbps.

Apart from Idea, Airtel also has a recharge plan priced at Rs 93, which offers unlimited local and national voice benetis with unlimited roaming, 1GB 3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day with a validity of 28 days. 

In order to stand up to the competition, Idea recently revised its Rs 149 prepaid recharge to offer unlimited local, national, and roaming calls with 1GB data and 100 SMS per day with 28 days validity. It previously offered all the benefits, albeit with a validity of 21 days.
