Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro receives permanent price cut in India, now starts at Rs 9,999

The Redmi 6 Pro has received its first price cut in India. Xiaomi has announced price drops on four of its smartphones till now.

Another day, another Xiaomi announcement. Fourth day this week, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has announced a permanent price drop on its Redmi 6 Pro smartphone. The 3GB/32GB model of the phone will now be priced at Rs 9,999, down from its launch price of Rs 11,499, and the 4GB/64GB version will cost Rs 11,999 instead of Rs 13,499. This announcement comes after Xiaomi declared permanent price drops on three of its other handsets – Redmi Note 5 Pro, Mi A2 and Redmi Y2. There is yet another announcement that will come tomorrow and seeing the trend, it could be about a discount on another Xiaomi smartphone. 

The Redmi 6 Pro was launched last year in September. The smartphone features an aluminium build and comes equipped with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and comes equipped with a 5.84-inch Full HD+ ‘notch’ screen with a 19:9 display aspect ratio. In terms of optics, the handset features a dual rear camera setup that supports EIS. There is a 12MP Sony IMX 486 primary sensor and a 5MP secondary Samsung sensor on the rear. The handset is backed by a 4000mAh battery and runs on MIUI 9.6 based on top of Android Oreo.

The company previously announced a price cut on its Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Mi A2 smartphones. The Redmi Y2’s 3GB RAM + 32GB storage version is priced at Rs 8,999, down from its previous price of Rs 9,999. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant of the handset is now priced at Rs 10,999, down from 11,999. The Mi A2’s 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version is now up for sale at Rs 13,999, down from its previously listed prices of 15,999. The 6GB + 128GB version of the phone is also discounted and will be up for sale at Rs 15,999, down from Rs 18,999. The Redmi Note 5 Pro will now cost Rs 12,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version, down from its previously listed price of Rs 13,999. The device’s 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model is now priced at Rs 13,999, down from its previous price of Rs 15,999.
