Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus launched in India for Rs. 57,900

Samsung has launched its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge+, in India for Rs. 57,900 in an event held in the country today. The smartphone is essentially a larger version of Galaxy S6 Edge and comes with dual-edge display like the original. Samsung has launched only the 32GB variant of the device as of now with no word about the 64GB variant.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 518ppi. The edge display of the smartphone can be used to add up to pin 5 apps. It is powered with octa-core Exynos 7420 processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It further packs in 16MP front shooter with f1.9 aperture and 5MP front shooter. It also comes with fingerprint scanner, 3,000mAh battery, TouchWiz UI based on Android 5.1.1. The smartphone also comes with features like Live YouTube broadcasting, digital video stablization, quick charging, etc.

Earlier, Samsung had launched the smartphone along with Galaxy Note 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked Event held in the U.S. However, there is no word regarding the launch of the Note 5 in India. As for the specs, Galaxy Note 5 is essentially the same as Galaxy S6 Edge Plus only difference that the former device doesn’t have dual-edge display. Other than these two smartphones, Samsung has also teased their upcoming smartwatch, Samsung Gear S2, at the Galaxy Unpacked Event. The smartwatch will be announced at the IFA set to be held in Berlin on September 9.
