OnePlus may launch new N series phones next month: Here is what we know

OnePlus is reportedly planning to enter the budget smartphone market in India with a new N series lineup. According to a recent report, the company is developing budget-friendly phones for users seeking a combination of features without investing a fortune. It would certainly come as a surprise to most people, as OnePlus is mostly recognised for its high-end phones. Even though the company has its Nord series, which was meant to be more affordable, it mostly stays above the Rs 20,000 price range. The new N series, on the other hand, could bring that price down and make OnePlus phones available to more people. If the report turns out to be accurate, OnePlus could soon enter one of the most competitive smartphone segments in the country.

OnePlus N series tipped to focus on affordability

According to a recent report by SmartPrix, OnePlus plans to introduce a new series of N series smartphones in the Indian market. The report cited tipster Yogesh Brar, who said that contrary to the existing portfolio, OnePlus will offer an array of budget phones that would appeal to more cost-conscious customers under its upcoming N series.

Reports also claim that some of the new models are expected to sell for less than Rs 20,000. As of now, the exact number of phones in the new lineup has not been disclosed. Nevertheless, it is said that OnePlus intends to develop products for different segments within the budget category. This way, the company can capture both entry-level buyers and more advanced users looking to buy value-for-money products.

It is also worth mentioning that industry insiders speculate whether the new range shares any resemblance with Realme smartphones after the two companies integrated their businesses. However, no further information has been released regarding this assumption.

Why the budget segment matters

OnePlus Nord CE 6

India is one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world. The budget smartphones sector is quite competitive in nature, with companies such as Xiaomi, Lava, and iQOO bringing out their feature-rich products at aggressive pricing. Large batteries, high refresh rate displays and capable cameras have become common even in lower price brackets.

For OnePlus, entering this category could open the door to a much wider customer base. It may also bring the company’s OxygenOS software experience to users who previously found OnePlus devices out of reach.

OnePlus N series: Launch timeline

The report indicates that the new N series could debut in India as early as July. However, the cost and other details regarding the upcoming N series smartphone still remain under wraps for the time being.

There is currently no information regarding specifications, design, camera setup or performance. It is also unclear how the new lineup will fit alongside the existing Nord series.

OnePlus has not yet officially announced the N series lineup yet. We reached out to OnePlus and will include updates once we get a response from the company.
