The revamped Galaxy J2 is tipped to feature a 5-inch qHD Super AMOLED display and is listed at a price of RUB 7,990 (Rs 8,860 approx).

Samsung might be soon launching the updated 2018 edition of its Galaxy J2 smartphone. The device was spotted on a Russian retailer’s website which reveals the specifications and price of the smartphone. It is seen in a Black and Gold colour variant and is listed at RUB 7,990 (Rs 8,860 approx), hinting at a price similar to its predecessor. 

The smartphone is listed with a 5-inch qHD Super AMOLED display with a 540x960p resolution. As per the specifications on the website, the Samsung Galaxy J2 could be powered by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset clocked at 1.4GHz. It is seen sporting 1.5GB of RAM with upgraded 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The 2018 edition of the Galaxy j2 is seen equipped with an 8MP rear camera setup with an LED flash and a 5MP front camera sensor with a flash. It is powered by a 2600mAh battery and features connectivity options like Wi-Fi, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, A-GPS, and a Micro-USB port. 

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy J2 (2018) along with its ‘A’ series smartphones at CES 2018 next month. The company recently launched its Galaxy A8 and A8+ smartphones in South Korea. 

Both the A8 series smartphones feature a Super AMOLED display with a taller 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) sports a 5.6-inch display, whereas the Galaxy A8+ (2018) comes with a larger 6-inch display. The two smartphones are powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor. The Galaxy A8 comes with 4GB of RAM with 32GB and 64GB storage options whereas the Galaxy A8+ has one 4GB RAM/32GB storage variant and another 6GB RAM/64GB ROM model.

Both the smartphones sport a 16MP+8MP dual front camera setup with f/1.9 aperture lens and come with a 16MP rear camera with a wider f/1.7 aperture, which supports capturing hyperlapse video along with video digital image stabilization (VDis). The Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ are powered by 3,000mAh and 3,500 mAh batteries and both the phones feature a USB Type-C port with fast charging support.
