Samsung Galaxy A10 to be the company’s first phone with an in-display fingerprint sensor: Report
HIGHLIGHTS

According to a Chinese leakster, Samsung might be working on a premium mid-range Galaxy A10 smartphone that will debut the under-display fingerprint sensor for Samsung. Mysteriously enough, the leak doesn’t say anything more than that about the phone.

Highlights:

  • Samsung Galaxy A10, according to a Chinese leakster, will sport an in-display fingerpritn sensor
  • The leakster had earlier revealed Samsung is working on a phone with Snapdragon 845 under the hood

Samsung earlier this year stated that its A-series smartphones will no longer live under the shadow of the flagships, but instead spearhead innovation for the company’s smartphone division. We saw the Galaxy A7 featuring a triple-camera setup for the first time, while the Galaxy A9 became the world’s first phone with a quad-camera stack at the back. More recently, the Galaxy A8s became the first Samsung phone to have an O-shaped camera on the front, which the company intends to use on its flagship as well. Now, a report suggests the Samsung Galaxy A10 will be the company’s first phone with an under-display fingerprint sensor.

According to a Chinese leakster, Samsung might be working on a premium mid-range Galaxy A10 smartphone that will debut the under-display fingerprint sensor for Samsung. Mysteriously enough, the leak doesn’t say anything more than that about the phone.

However, the same account had earlier stated that Samsung was working on a mid-range phone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. It could be possible that the leakster is talking about the same phone. Samsung has already used the Snapdragon 710 in the Galaxy A8s, so the A10 seems tobe the perfect candidate for the next phase of innovation that will finally find their way into the flagship Galaxy S10.

The Galaxy S10 has reportedly gone into mass production already owing to the complex features Samsung will show off. Reports also suggest Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S10 at an “Unpacked” event on February 20 in Barcelona, a week ahead of Mobile World Congress, Barcelona.
