Panasonic has officially launched an octa-core smartphone, P81 in India. Priced at Rs.18, 990, the Panasonic P81 supports dual-SIM, runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.7GHz true octa-core processor along with 1GB of RAM.

The Panasonic P81 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 720p resolution. It has 13MP camera with auto focus and LED flash and a 2MP front camera. The smartphone comes with 8GB of ROM along and supports additional storage up to 32GB. For connectivity, the P81 supports 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 3.0. A 2,500 mAh battery powers the smartphone.

The Panasonic P81 comes with Leatherette back cover, which is supposed to give a better grip. Panasonic has also expanded its “Play Life” bouquet of features with apps such as Device Cleaner, multi-tasking app Pop-i Player and Gesture Play.

The phone comes with apps freebies of Rs.9,900/- including Evernote 6 month services worth Rs.1800/, free entertainment download from Hungama for a month , India Today finest e-content & trendy offers from Hot-n-Trendy Space. Packed inbox are accessories worth Rs.2000/- as well.

Panasonic’s new smartphone will be competing against several octa-core phones such as the Micromax Canvas Knight, Karbonn Titanium Octa, Gionee Elife E7 mini and Elife S5.5.
