OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T Oxygen OS update to bring March security patch
OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T to get March security patch with latest Oxygen OS update.
The update will also bring a new tool for bug reporting.
Recently, OnePlus rolled out the April 2019 security patches to the OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5 in the latest open betas, as well as the public beta of Android Pie to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The Chinese company is now rolling out a stable update for both of the last year’s flagship devices with March security update. Apart from the security update, the OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T will also get some bug fixes and stability improvements.
The stable updates, with version numbers OxygenOS 9.0.13 for the OnePlus 6T and OxygenOS 9.0.5 for the OnePlus 6, also bring a new tool for bug reporting and submitting feature requests. “We have had our feedback tool integrated into community app under testing in Open Betas for a while now, and it's time for the Feedback section to be part of our stable builds. You can now submit bug reports, product suggestions, and feature requests seamlessly from the community app and the best part is that it automatically captures the required logs based on the issue you are reporting, thus making it easier for our team to address issues and track feedback,” the company said on its forum.
The news comes a day after OnePlus said that the company will make a launch event announcement on April 23. Company CEO Pete Lau had already teased that the upcoming flagship will deliver a ‘smooth’ experience. It is speculated that this could be a hint towards a higher refresh rate display. As per a previous report, the rumoured OnePlus 7 Pro might be equipped with a 6.64-inch curved Quad HD+ Super AMOLED “90hz” display with a pop-up front camera. In comparison, the OnePlus 7 could sport a flat 6.4-inch screen with a waterdrop notch.
OnePlus phones have flagship processor so it is likely that both the above mentioned handsets will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC. While, the OnePlus 7 Pro could sport a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a secondary telephoto lens and an ultra-wide tertiary camera, the OnePlus 7 is speculated to get a dual-rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor. Additional details about the OnePlus 7 Pro includes Warp charge support at 30W, along with a 4000mAH battery, dual speaker setup, and USB 3.1 connectivity.
