Apple iPhone 20 to launch with curved display and buttonless design: Here’s what we know
Apple iPhone 20 is rumoured to feature a curved display wrapping around all four sides, marking a major shift from the current flat-screen design.
Leaks suggest Apple may remove physical buttons, replacing them with touch- and pressure-based controls built into the frame.
The phone could also debut an under-display front camera, offering a fully uninterrupted screen, though durability and camera quality remain concerns.
While Apple is all set to launch iPhone 18 Pro Max, 18 Pro and iPhone 18 this upcoming fall, the rumours around iPhone 20 are already all over the internet. The leaks around the device suggest that iPhone may ditch the current flat screen that’s provided with the current iPhone and may launch with a curved display. Furthermore, you may also see the exit of the physical buttons, and the front camera may go under the display. While the company has not confirmed anything yet, these leaks and rumours are already creating a strong buzz around the upcoming iPhone 20.
SurveyThe Information in a report outlined plans for nearly thirty upcoming Apple products. One of the most surprising details in that report was the claim that Apple might altogether skip the name iPhone 19 and jump straight to iPhone 20. As per the report, this skip could also be a strategic decision, as Apple will soon mark its twentieth anniversary. It’s not the first time Apple is doing this, as Apple pulled a similar move when it launched the iPhone X to celebrate a big milestone.

However, that’s not the biggest thing yet, as Apple is said to be working on a phone with a curved screen that wraps around all four sides. If the rumours are to be believed, then this would be a very significant change from the flat screens we currently have with our iPhones. The current titanium frame might also be replaced with a thin metal band around the middle, giving the phone a smoother and more modern look.
Another possible change is the removal of physical buttons. Instead of real power and volume buttons, these controls could be built into the frame and work through touch and pressure. This would make the phone have no physical buttons at all.

The front of the phone may also look very different. Apple is rumoured to be working on an under-display camera, which would remove the current cutout on the screen. This would allow the display to appear completely uninterrupted, something Apple has not offered before.
However, these changes raise concerns. While the curved display is visually appealing, it’s more likely to crack when dropped. They also make it harder to apply strong screen protectors, a problem seen on many curved phones in the past. Repair costs could also increase if the screen wraps around the entire device.
There are also questions around camera quality. Under-display cameras have been tried by other brands, but many later moved away from them due to weaker photo results. Apple may have found a way to improve this, but that remains to be seen.
