Oppo Find X9 Pro Review: A Flagship That Finally Feels Complete

Oppo Find X9 Pro Review: A Flagship That Finally Feels Complete

After years of refining its camera-first philosophy, Oppo’s Find series has quietly matured into one of the most technically ambitious flagship lines in India. Last year’s Find X8 Pro showed promising intent, especially in imaging and battery innovation, but it did not quite overtake the Snapdragon-powered competition in raw performance. The Oppo Find X9 Pro arrives at a higher price of Rs 1,09,999, but this time the proposition feels more holistic. With a next-generation telephoto system, a significantly larger battery, MediaTek’s 3 nm Dimensity 9500, and a flatter, more modern design, the Find X9 Pro positions itself as Oppo’s most confident flagship yet. Whether that confidence translates into real-world superiority is what we set out to test.

Design and Build

Oppo Find X9 Pro

The Find X9 Pro moves to a flatter aesthetic, giving it a more contemporary and premium look. At 8.25 mm thin, it feels sleeker than its 224-gram weight suggests. The straight edges improve grip, and the redesigned camera island aligns neatly with the frame, preventing accidental finger placement on the lenses.

Two hardware additions stand out. The Snap Key on the left side can be customised for quick actions such as sound profiles, screenshots or translation tools. The Quick Button on the right now detects tiny swipe movements, allowing users to zoom or capture shots with greater precision.

Durability is excellent. The phone carries IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it withstands dust, immersion and high-pressure water jets. The Silk White finish looks elegant, while the Titanium Charcoal variant offers a refined matte texture that resists fingerprints better. Overall, the design feels purposeful and is a clear improvement over last year.

Display

Oppo Find X9 Pro

The phone features a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED display with uniform 1.15 millimetre bezels on all sides. These are the thinnest bezels Oppo has shipped on a smartphone. The panel supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 Plus and HDR Vivid. It also offers 10-bit colour depth for smoother gradients.

Oppo Find X9 Pro

In our tests, the Find X9 Pro reached around 1400 nits in High Brightness Mode and about 3100 nits outdoors. These numbers fall slightly short of Oppo’s 3600 nit peak claim but remain excellent for daily visibility. HDR content looks bright and contrast-rich, and outdoor readability is dependable even in harsh sunlight.

The screen can dim to 1 nit and uses 2160 Hz PWM dimming, which significantly reduces flicker at low brightness. The shift to a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner improves accuracy and avoids the bright flash of optical scanners in dark environments.

Performance

Oppo Find X9 Pro

The Find X9 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, built on a 3 nm process. Benchmarks show solid results with an AnTuTu score of 3417536, Geekbench 6 scores of 3216 and 9490, a PCMark Work score of 13218 and a 90% result in the CPU throttle test. These numbers indicate that while Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phones retain an edge in peak performance, the Find X9 Pro excels in consistency, something last year’s Dimensity 9400 struggled with.

Gaming performance is significantly better than expected. Genshin Impact stayed locked at 60 frames per second throughout our session, and few Android phones can maintain this stability. BGMI ran at 120 frames per second with minimal dips and comfortable thermals even during long Classic matches. Honkai Star Rail and Wuthering Waves stayed close to 60 frames per second with only minor temperature increases. These results show how much Oppo’s redesigned cooling and the new Arm G1 Ultra GPU contribute to real-world performance. The vapour chamber is 33.7% larger than before, which helps control heat more effectively.

Daily usage is equally smooth. App launches are quick, multitasking feels fluid, and the UFS 4.1 storage keeps everything responsive.

Cameras

Oppo Find X9 Pro

The Find X9 Pro introduces Oppo’s most ambitious camera system to date. It combines a new 1 by 1.28-inch LYT 828 main sensor, a 50 megapixel ultrawide and a large 1 by 1.56-inch 200 megapixel Hasselblad telephoto. The goal is clear. This is a telephoto first flagship.

The telephoto system is where the phone shines the most. The 200 megapixel sensor captures impressive detail at 3x and 6x, and even extended zoom levels remain cleaner than expected. Texture retention is excellent. Fine details such as animal fur and distant architectural elements maintain clarity without over-sharpening. Stabilisation is also highly effective, and long zoom shots often appear sharper and more stable than competing flagships.

The floating telephoto design enables genuine optical macro performance. Close-up shots benefit from natural depth of field and pleasant background compression that looks closer to a DSLR than a typical smartphone macro mode.

Low-light performance has improved on all lenses. Neon signage retains colour without clipping. Shadows stay controlled without excessive noise. Fireworks and high contrast night scenes show balanced exposures with clean blacks. HDR behaviour is more refined with sensible decisions in difficult backlit situations.

Colour science leans toward Oppo’s signature warm and vibrant palette. Skies can appear slightly more saturated, and reds and pinks occasionally pop more than naturally. Most users will find the output visually pleasing, although purists may prefer a toned-down profile.

Portraits benefit from better subject separation and more accurate rendering of skin tones, especially in mixed artificial lighting.

While the camera system is not without small quirks, such as mild flare in extreme backlight or slight colour punch in daylight, the overall performance feels more consistent and advanced than last year. It is one of the most versatile and reliable imaging packages you can buy today.

Battery Life and Charging

The Find X9 Pro houses a 7500 mAh silicon-carbon battery. It is the largest battery ever used in a Find series flagship, and yet the phone still remains 8.25 millimetres thick. Battery life is outstanding. The phone lasted 26 hours and 12 minutes in the PCMark Battery Test and regularly delivered two full days of use.

The silicon-carbon chemistry is a long-term advantage. The battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its capacity after five years of normal use, which is rare for a smartphone battery.

Charging is slower than typical Oppo standards. The phone took 1 hour and 31 minutes to go from 0 to 100 per cent in our test. Oppo supports 80-watt wired charging, 50-watt wireless charging and 10-watt reverse wireless charging. The slower full charge time appears deliberate to protect battery health and does not affect the phone’s exceptional endurance.

Verdict

Oppo Find X9 Pro

At Rs 1,09,999, the Oppo Find X9 Pro competes directly with the most capable premium smartphones of the year. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 rivals still hold the crown in peak synthetic performance. However, Oppo takes a different and more balanced approach.

The Find X9 Pro focuses on real-world reliability rather than chasing benchmark records. The telephoto system is one of the best available on any smartphone. Battery life is exceptional. Sustained performance during gaming is impressive. The display is bright and comfortable. The design feels modern and refined.

If your priorities include photography, battery life and stable performance, the Oppo Find X9 Pro stands out as Oppo’s most complete flagship yet.
