After Apple and Samsung, OnePlus is also set to join the fray of compact flagship phones with the upcoming 13s. The smartphone will join the company’s flagship smartphone lineup in India on June 5. OnePlus has already confirmed a bunch of features about the device, which suggests that it will be positioned between the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R in the country.

As we know, the OnePlus 13 is already a capable phone and was received well in the Indian market. It also performed really well in our testing and delivers great value. So, should you actually buy it or wait for the OnePlus 13s?

Well, here are five major differences that we are expecting on the upcoming OnePlus 13s. This shall help you make a decision.

OnePlus 13s vs OnePlus 13: Display

One of the significant changes on the OnePlus 13s is its compact size. The phone will debut with a 6.32-inch panel with a 1.5K resolution, much smaller in size compared to the OnePlus 13’s 6.82-inch display. The other display features are yet to be revealed. However, it is rumoured to feature an OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It may also support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

OnePlus 13s vs OnePlus 13: Processor and storage

The brand has confirmed that the OnePlus 13s will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, similar to the OnePlus 13. This also means that despite its compact size, the phone won’t compromise on performance. Additionally, it may pack up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. OnePlus 13, on the other hand, ships with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

OnePlus 13s vs OnePlus 13: Rear Camera

Another notable change is the OnePlus 13s’ rear camera setup, which will comprise only two sensors, as confirmed by official teasers released by the company. Additionally, the phone will also get a square camera module, different from the OnePlus 13’s circular camera module with triple sensors. This is one of the major departures from the design of the OnePlus 13 series.

The OnePlus 13s will likely lack an ultra-wide lens and may pack a 50MP IMX906 primary sensor with OIS and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom. The OnePlus 13, on the other hand, features a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP 3x optical zoom shooter, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor.

OnePlus 13s vs OnePlus 13: Front camera

In terms of selfie camera, the upcoming OnePlus 13s is expected to house a 16MP shooter while the OnePlus 13 has a 32MP front camera.

Despite its compact size, the phone is expected to be powered by a larger battery than the OnePlus 13. It is rumoured to ship with a 6,260mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, while the latter ships with a 6,000mAh battery.

While some of these details have been confirmed by OnePlus, others are speculations. So, wait till June 5, when the device goes official, and we will have all the details.
