Motorola Edge Lite allegedly in works
Could launch toned-down version of Motorola Edge
Motorola Edge Lite also spotted in an FCC filing
Motorola Edge Lite has allegedly leaked as an affordable mid-range smartphone in the company’s flagship Edge series. The Motorola Edge Plus was announced in India last month on May 19 at Rs 74,999, going up against the likes of the Apple iPhone 11, Xiaomi Mi 10 and Samsung Galaxy S20+.
As per an exclusive report by PriceBaba that cites popular tipster Ishan Agarwal, Lenovo-backed Motorola is gearing to launch the Edge Lite in the mid-range segment. Agarwal also revealed that the phone will either be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G or Snapdragon 765G processor and bearing the model number as XT2075.
A phone going by the same model number was spotted in an FCC filing and according to rumours the phone could be powered by Snapdragon 765G chipset with 5G support along with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and is equipped with 4,700mAh battery to boot.
Interestingly, Motorola already has the regular Edge running on Snapdragon 765G which indicates that the company might cut down on some of the features for the Edge Lite. There’s little clarity on the specifications and features of the Motorola Edge Lite and as for the Motorola Edge, it didn’t see the light of the day in India, unlike the Edge+.
It’s currently not known whether Motorola plans to bring the regular Motorola Edge or Edge Lite to India in the coming months.
