iQOO U3 has officially launched as a mid-range phone under Vivo’s sub-brand in China. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor that was recently announced in India and is set to debut on the Realme X7 series for when it launches in the country. Meanwhile, iQOO launched the flagship iQOO 3 in India earlier this year but is yet to launch a second phone.
The iQOO U3 has a high-refresh-rate display, dual cameras on the back, fast-charging battery and 5G compatibility. There is no word whether iQOO U3 will arrive in India anytime soon, however, we may start seeing more phones with Dimensity chipsets launching in India in 2021. Let’s take a brief look at the specifications of the iQOO U3.
iQOO U3 specifications
The iQOO U3 features a 6.58-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution display with a waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera. The phone has a 90Hz high refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The U3 is being offered in two colours, black and aurora with gradient finish. It measures 8.4 millimetres in thickness and weighs 185 grams.
iQOO U3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 GPU. This is paired with upto 8GB RAM and 128GB storage options to choose from. However, there is no support for storage expansion via microSD card slot.
The phone has dual cameras on the back that consists of a primary 48MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor. The rear cameras can record in 4K UHD at 30FPS and there is a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
The power button on the iQOO U3 doubles up as the fingerprint reader and the phone is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging out-of-the-box.
iQOO U3 is priced starting at CNY 1,498 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and CNY 1,698 for the 8GB+128GB variant. This indicates a starting price of around Rs 16,800 for the base variant by direct conversion.
