OnePlus has officially teased a new N series launch for the Indian market. A dedicated landing page on Amazon India has gone live alongside a launch microsite that carries the message “Stay tuned. Something NEW is coming soon.” The announcement confirms what tipster Yogesh Brar and Smartprix reported earlier this week: OnePlus is preparing to enter the budget smartphone segment in India with a series of phones priced under Rs 20,000.
SurveyThe teaser image shows three smartphone silhouettes in a mint-green finish that are arranged to form the letter N, with two upright phones serving as the vertical strokes and one placed diagonally between them. The side profile of each device reveals flat frames, a compact rear camera protrusion rather than a full-width island, standard volume and power buttons on the right spine and no Alert Slider, which is consistent with cost-down decisions OnePlus has made on previous Nord N series devices elsewhere. Of course, there’s no indication that OnePlus is bringing “Nord N” series to India and if anything this looks like a new series altogether.
What is the N series and why this matters for India
The N series is not new to OnePlus because globally it has launched phones under the Nord N series. Devices including the Nord N100, N200, N300 and their successors have been available across North America and select other markets as the brand’s entry-level lineup. India, however, has largely received the Nord CE and Nord series instead, both of which tend to sit above the Rs 20,000 mark. The Nord CE6 Lite, currently the most affordable OnePlus device in India, starts at Rs 22,999.
If the N series lands below Rs 20,000 as reported, it would represent OnePlus’s most affordable entry point in India in years. The sub-Rs 20,000 segment in India is one of the most contested in the market, with Redmi, Realme, iQOO, CMF and Lava all operating aggressively at this price point. Features such as large battery, high-refresh-rate display and decent cameras have been normalized in this segment and OnePlus will need to bring something meaningful to stand out. OxygenOS, for starters, could be one of those things that may make the N series worthy of consideration.
Expected specs and model name
No official specifications have been confirmed yet. Based on what the market typically offers in this price range and the supply chain information available, phones in this segment commonly use chipsets such as the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 or similar mid-range silicon. The Amazon teaser image URL has led to some speculations that the phone could be called the OnePlus N6, though OnePlus has not confirmed any model name.
Industry insiders have also noted questions about whether the N series could share hardware with Realme, given the integration of the two companies under BBK. No information has been confirmed on this front as well.
When to expect it
The N series launch is expected in July 2026. OnePlus is already in the promotional phase and with the Amazon landing page live, more details including specifications, pricing and model names are likely to surface over the coming weeks.
