Huawei Mate 20 pro could feature a 6.9-Inch Samsung OLED Display
HIGHLIGHTS

Huawei is reportedly sourcing flat 6.9-inch OLED displays from Samsung and the company’s upcoming Mate 20 Pro is speculated to feature the large display.

Huawei’s latest flagship is the P20 Pro and its main USP is the triple main camera setup, which is easily the current best in comparison with other flagships. Now, a report by The Bell suggests that the company’s upcoming smartphones, including the flagship Mate 20 Pro, will sport a bigger and possibly better display as the company is procuring 6.9-inch AMOLED panels from Samsung. The production of the panels is tipped to commence by Q3 2018 and smartphones equipped with the phablet-sized display are said to launch by Q4 this year or in early 2019.

As per the report, Samsung has already sent samples of the display to Huawei, which are flat and not curved. Also, if the Mate 20 features a 6.9-inch display, it could easily race ahead of the competition in terms of screen size. Rumours suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could feature a 6.3-inch display and the second generation iPhone X Plus might be equipped with a 6.5-inch screen. The apparent reason for Huawei going for a humongous display is because Chinese characters take up more display area and thus smartphone buyers in the country are said to prefer a larger display. With a larger display, the company could maintain the lead in its home market. However, as the information is not from official source, we suggest that you take this info with a pinch of salt.

As aforementioned, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is tipped to feature a  6.3-inch Infinity Display with slimmer top and bottom bezels. This information comes from previously leaked CAD renders of the device. As per the report, the smartphone might get a centrally placed fingerprint sensor that sits below the dual-rear camera setup. The company might also choose not to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack just yet as it is seen on the bottom edge, along with a USB Type-C port for charging. You can read more about the device here.

Additionally, one of the upcoming iPhone models is said to feature a triple rear camera setup and come with a notch on top. As per a previous report, the "bigger iPhone X Plus" could feature three sensors on the rear, same as the Huawei P20 Pro. Apparently, only the top-model iPhone X Plus is said to feature triple cameras and the iPhone X successor might retain a standard dual rear camera setup.
