HIGHLIGHTS

The Nokia X5 is reported to be powered by MediaTek's Helio P60 chipset and prices may start from CNY 799 (approx Rs 8,288).

A few days ago HMD Global made it official that it will launch a Nokia ‘X-series’ smartphone on July 11, however, it is still not clear which phone will the company unveil at the event. But given the series of image and specs leaks on the internet, it is speculated that the device will be the Nokia X5, which is likely to be called Nokia 5.1 Plus globally. Adding to the rumoured information, a new report has suggested that the Nokia X5 will house the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. It was earlier reported to come with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset or the MediaTek Helio P63 processor.

The latest images match the photos of the phone that were leaked earlier. The only notable difference is the colour. While earlier leaks had a black colour device attached, the latest one shows a blue phone with a wide notch, thin bezels on the side and a chin with the Nokia branding. On the glass back panel, there is a dual-camera setup aligned vertically in the centre followed by an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia X5 is reported to sport a 5.8-inch HD+ display with a 720 x 1520 resolution. It may come with with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB onboard storage. The phone could be equipped with a 13MP + 5MP rear camera and an 8MP sensor on the front. It might have a 3,000 mAh battery. The smartphone will be launched first in China as the Nokia X5 and then will reportedly be available in other parts of the world as Nokia 5.1 Plus. It is tipped to start at a price of CNY 799 (approx Rs 8,288) for the 32GB variant and CNY 999 (approx Rs 10,363) for the 64GB model.
