Flipkart starts offering ‘Complete Mobile Protection’ at Rs 999 per annum: Details inside
HIGHLIGHTS

The Flipkart Complete Mobile Protection covers software and hardware issues on phones purchased from its platform. The coverage includes broken screens, accidental damage, liquid spills and immersions, and other issues with the phone.

Flipkart has announced a smartphone protection plan called ‘Complete Mobile Protection.’ The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is the first phone to come with this plan. The ‘Complete Mobile Protection’ plan is priced at Rs 999. However, it will be available at a special price of Rs 49 with the new Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. Flipkart says that it will provide complete cover for accidental damage. In addition, it will also provide quick replacement, free pickups and drop along with a single helpline number. The service will cover damages like hardware and software issues, repair of broken screen, repair of liquid damage to the phone, doorstep pick and drop, troubleshooting/phone set up via store visit, repair or replacement guarantee, guaranteed repair within 10 days, along with brand authorized service centres.

Even though the Flipkart 'Complete Mobile Protection' programme covers damages that would otherwise not be covered under warranty, it has a few cases where it will not cover the damages.

The Flipkart programme will not cover ‘Loss or theft or burglary of the Covered Product arising out of any reason whatsoever’. It will also not cover any loss ‘arising out of loaning or renting of the Covered Product to a third party’. Manufacturing defects are also not covered under the plan. It’s also needless to say that if you get the device repaired from a third party, your cover is no longer valid.

If your smartphone explodes because you used a third party charger, the programme will not cover the damages. There are many more conditions under which the Flipkart ‘Complete Mobile Protection’ plan will not cover you. So you may want to read the terms and conditions page carefully.
