As per the Starlink India website, the subscription for residential users has been set at Rs 8,600 per month, while the customers will also have to buy the required hardware kit priced at Rs. 34,000. It must be noted that the company has only announced the individual plans and not announced the Business tier pricing at the time of writing this article.

Starlink claims that the service is designed to function reliably in all weather conditions and promises almost 100 per cent up time, making it a viable option for regions with limited or inconsistent connectivity. Also, the Elon Musk owned brand also promised that the hardware setup needs minimal effort with users able to plug in the hardware and get online within minutes. Interestingly, it will offer unlimited data and comes with a 30 day trial window.

As per the reports, Starlink is preparing to establish gateway earth stations across several cities including Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Noida. It will act as terrestrial hubs connecting user terminals with SpaceX’s growing satellite constellation.

Back in July, Starlink secured a five-year licence from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), giving it the permission to operate commercial satellite broadband services in the country. However, the map on the company’s website still shows approval pending for the India location. It must be noted that the company has not confirmed the official launch date at the moment.

Meanwhile, the company is expanding its team in the country. The company has been actively hiring employees on LinkedIn for roles in its Bengaluru office, including positions in payments, accounting, treasury and tax.
