Samsung rolls out August Android security update to Galaxy S8 devices

Last month Samsung rolled out the July security updates to the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, in the second half of the month. But this time it seems to be releasing the update on time. A report has claimed that Samsung has rolled out August Android security update to Galaxy S8 smartphones in Germany.

The build number of the update is G950FXXU3CRGH and users will need to download 418.18MB of files. The software update is not available to everyone but it is expected that the South Korean giant will release it for a larger audience soon. The company may also roll out the update to the Galaxy S8+ so that it can shift its focus to release updates for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. The software update bring along cryptic Game Launcher changes and mentions about turning on Game Launcher and “using more Samsung gaming services.” To see if the update is available for you, you can go to Settings, tap Software update, then tap Download updates manually.

Samsung is about to unveil its second flagship device of the year, the Galaxy Note 9, on August 9. The phablet is reported to come with the same accessories as its predecessor but the S-Pen stylus will reportedly have Bluetooth connectivity.
