Brocade, the player in data center networking solutions that help enterprises connect and manage their information, announced that it has helped Fuji Television Network (Fuji TV), Japan’s media conglomerate, migrate over 400 gigabytes of critical corporate information in an unprecedented project time of approximately 30 minutes.
As part of a storage virtualization project to efficiently manage its rapidly increasing volume of data, Fuji TV was looking for the best way to reliably move data to new storage devices that were optimized for virtualization. In February 2007, Fuji TV began investigating the available data migration options, including Brocade’s Data Migration Professional Services offering. The company selected Brocade Data Migration Services after finding their approach to be simpler, faster, and more reliable than other data migration options.
In June 2007, Fuji TV worked with a Brocade Professional Services team to migrate 400 gigabytes of mail server data in 30 minutes — much less downtime than the 13 hours required for a previous data migration project. The company was so satisfied with the results that it decided to utilize Brocade Data Migration Services again to migrate 4.3 terabytes of data in January 2008.
