The Blood Of Dawnwalker sells 1 million copies in 3 days, Rebel Wolves confirms

How often have you seen a completely new IP sell over a million copies in 3 days? Not many, right? Well this is something that Rebel Wolves’ very first game, The Blood of Dawnwalker, has managed to achieve. The dark fantasy RPG launched on September 2 and has already crossed the one million copies sold mark just three days later. For a new studio and a completely new franchise, that is quite an impressive start. Read on to know more.

The Blood of Dawnwalker crosses 1 million sales

Rebel Wolves announced the milestone on September 5 through the official Blood of Dawnwalker account on X. The developer confirmed that the game had surpassed one million copies sold within three days of its launch.

“Thank you for playing, sharing, supporting, and being part of the community,” the developer said in its celebratory post.

The achievement is particularly interesting because The Blood of Dawnwalker is a completely new IP. Players did not have years of familiarity with the franchise or its characters before the game launched. Rebel Wolves had to introduce players to its world, story and gameplay systems with its very first release.

The studio was founded by former CD Projekt Red developers, and The Blood of Dawnwalker has also drawn comparisons to The Witcher 3. However, the game tries to build its own identity with its vampire-focused setting and gameplay mechanics.

About The Blood of Dawnwalker

The Blood of Dawnwalker takes you to a fictional city slowly being taken over by the Varkhiri, a group of vampires. The world looks stunning, with towering castles, dense forests and muddy roads. You play as Coen, who is human during the day and a vampire at night. This also changes how characters interact with him.

What makes the game even more interesting is the 30-day limit for completing the main story. Unlike most RPGs where you can take your time exploring the world and completing side quests, The Blood of Dawnwalker keeps the clock ticking.

I initially found the game confusing, but after spending over 20 hours with it, the story and characters had me hooked. The combat took some time to get used to as well, although the abilities you unlock later make it more enjoyable.

The Standard Edition of The Blood of Dawnwalker is available for Rs 3,999 on PS5 and PC.
